About The Position

The Sustainability Specialist will report into EHS, with an indirect reporting relationship to the company Operations and Sales teams. They will support client specific sustainability requirements while adhering to the Company's sustainability objectives in accordance with organizational policies/objectives to support profitable growth. Act as liaison for internal (sales, operations) and external (client) stakeholders and will be responsible for supporting client specific sustainability requirements and reporting objectives Facilitate and lead response to client specific EHS/Sustainability related requirements, including approved contract requirements and requests for proposal (RFP’s) Respond to client sustainability related data and information requests, including but not limited to: Energy consumption, GHG emissions, waste production, water consumption, certified and recycled content paper use, tracking performance against client established reduction targets, etc Provide data to support client compliance to applicable sustainability related regulatory requirements, including EPR, PPWR and EUDR Engage with other internal stakeholders given the data information required, including site operations, sales, EHS, engineering, procurement, etc. Attend client driven sustainability related supplier webinars, summits, educational sessions, etc. while documenting any action items identified and addressing with Operations, Sales, and where necessary the Sustainability leadership team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience in sustainability and/or client support
  • Excellent written skills and effective public speaking abilities
  • Experience and ability to work with cross-disciplinary teams
  • The ability to communicate effectively with people of different hierarchical levels.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Proficient in computer software applications.

Responsibilities
