EHS Specialist is responsible for managing environmental, health, and safety activities and provide technical guidance to improve workplace safety conditions and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Coordinate environmental, health, and safety activities through strong leadership and communication.
Coordinate and provide environmental health and safety training for team members.
Conduct new hire orientation provide environmental health safety training.
Investigate work related injuries and/or illnesses, provide statistical analysis, and assist in the development of effective health and safety countermeasures to continuously improve safety objectives.
Ensure legislative compliance with Federal, state and local regulations.
Lead the Safety Team and help to coordinate activities, recommendations, and accountability of issues identified by the team.
Conduct routine safety observation tours, with effective follow-up.
Coordinate emergency evacuation procedures, training, and practice drills.
Coordinate chemical awareness training and monitor on a continuous basis.
Ensure all environmental reports are submitted accurately and on time pertaining to areas such as: land; air; water and hazardous waste.
Manage pollution prevention program according to local regulations.
Coordinate and manage hazardous waste program.
Coordinate recycling efforts of all recyclable scrap.
Serve as the ISO 14000 Management Representative.
All other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree or technical certifications in related field preferred not required.
3+ years' experience in related field and/or automotive manufacturing environment.
