As an EHS Specialist, you will ensure compliance with Federal, State, and County environmental, health, and safety regulations, as well as the Watts Water EHS management system, for our operations in Blauvelt, NY. Working under the guidance of the EHS Platform Leader, you will be actively present on the production floor to manage and administer policies, conduct audits, investigate incidents, and deliver training to maintain a safe, compliant work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in an EHS role, with knowledge of Federal, State, and County regulations.
  • Familiarity with exposure monitoring protocols and accident investigation techniques.
  • Certifications such as CSP or CHMM are a plus but not required.
  • Proven ability to identify risks, analyze data, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the capability to collaborate across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide EHS support in Blauvelt, NY, managing compliance programs in accordance with Federal, State, and County regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee EHS training plans (e.g., RCRA, NESHAP, HAZCOM, Lockout/Tagout, Forklift, Crane, PPE).
  • Coordinate or conduct environmental monitoring (air, storm water, waste management) and undertake permitting with associated deliverables management.
  • Perform safety and environmental risk assessments, inspections, and audits, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, collaborating with Human Resources on workers' compensation initiatives.
  • Maintain EHS files and records to ensure regulatory compliance, interfacing with internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
  • Work closely with facility management and the Corporate EHS Department to strengthen EHS policies and standards.
