Position: EHS Specialist Location: Molecular Diagnostics Business Unit, Des Plaines, Illinois The EHS Specialist is responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system. Applies technical knowledge to work assignments to meet specific objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Safety, Health or Environmental or related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 5 years EHS work experience and minimum of OSHA 30-hour training course.
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting Division products.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
  • Assists other in conducting studies.
  • Develops solutions to problems of limited scope.
  • Develops and conducts EH&S training for employees.
  • Acts as a technical resource for project teams, supervisors, and other internal customers.
  • Assists in the development of policies, procedures and programs.
  • Participates and/or conducts audits and inspections.
  • Acts as a member of a project team.
  • May direct/schedule activities of technicians. employees or direct internal customers
  • Contributes to long range planning, administration, and technician's performance reviews.
