About The Position

The EHS Specialist at Amazon.com Services LLC is responsible for promoting workplace health and safety by coordinating and implementing safety programs within their assigned building. This role focuses on maintaining compliance with corporate standards and federal and state laws, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a positive safety culture among employees. The specialist will also be involved in training and coaching associates on safe work practices and managing metrics related to workplace safety.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
  • A minimum of 1 year in an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field OR a Bachelor's degree in EHS-relevant background OR 6 months experience performing in a safety-related role within Amazon
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity
  • Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues in the workplace
  • Experience in worker's compensation case management
  • Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills
  • Experience leading and managing a team
  • Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns
  • Experience in emergency response and currently holds First Aid and CPR certificates

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams and corporate based reporting systems
  • Support management efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate program expectations and applicable federal and state laws
  • Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) and new equipment introductions
  • Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics
  • Conduct trainings and coach associates on observed work habits
  • Be available to work flexible shifts including days, nights, and/or weekends
