The EHS Specialist, Workplace Health and Safety (WHSS) at Amazon.com Services LLC is a critical role focused on ensuring a safe and compliant work environment. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics that are reported to onsite management teams and corporate reporting systems. The WHSS supports management's efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate program expectations and applicable federal and state laws. This includes conducting risk assessments related to jobs performed, known as Job Hazard Analysis, and evaluating new equipment introductions to ensure safety standards are met. In addition to compliance and reporting, the WHSS is tasked with recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, which may include ergonomic assessments and improvements. The role requires a proactive approach to safety, including the analysis of accident data and the identification of potential safety concerns associated with new processes and machinery. The candidate must be willing to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, based on availability. Furthermore, for those who do not possess an adult First Aid, CPR, and AED certification from recognized organizations, obtaining these certifications within three weeks of the start date is mandatory. The ideal candidate will have experience in worker's compensation case management and a strong background in safety-related fields. Strong communication, teamwork, analytical, judgment, and customer focus skills are essential for success in this role.
