About The Position

Labcorp is seeking an EHS Specialist III to join our team in Indianapolis, IN. Job Responsibilities: Depending on and complexity of a location EHS Specialist III may supervise consultants, and contractors. May perform supervisory duties on behalf of the EHS Manager during their absence. Mentors junior EHS specialists. Administers environmental, health, and safety programs to meet regulatory requirements and company goals. Provide leadership and technical expertise with regard to risk assessment activities so to minimize EHS related risk (e.g. fire, environmental releases, injuries, and illnesses, etc. Assists Corporate EHS Director by participating on corporate audit teams, and other duties as requested. Develops and implements facility-wide policies, procedures, and EHS training programs to ensure compliance with applicable state/country regulatory requirements and industry standards on a country, regional and global basis. Inspects facilities and operations for regulatory and company policy compliance. Conducts accident and incident investigations. Actively promotes environmental, health, and safety activities, participates in committees and meetings, and provides miscellaneous services. May lead EHS Committee and Team activities, such as department safety teams, emergency response team, etc. May function as the Chemical Hygiene Officer, Radiation Safety Officer, Emergency Coordinator, Biological Safety Officer, or Technical Lead. May function as a member or leader of site EHS audit team. Initiate, establish and cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external clients. Promote positive relationships with government agencies. Communicate effectively with site management and employees.

Requirements

  • 8 years of EHS experience or advanced degree with 4 years EHS experience
  • Bachelor's degree in science or technical field
