About The Position

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time EHS Specialist I. The EHS Specialist will support the safety and environmental program at the Bridgeton Land Systems location. Primary duties include conducting safety and regulatory audits, managing chemicals and hazardous materials, reporting safety near-misses or violations, and assisting with data entry and tracking of environmental metrics and statistics. The EHS Specialist will create and maintain safety programs as needed. The specialist must have, or be willing to obtain, CPR/AED certification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS, science or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Must have excellent PC-based computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with OSHA and annual compliance training strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Daily activities focused on Environmental Protection and Employee Safety
  • Prepare Safety Data Sheet (SDS), master labels and other documentation as needed
  • Aid management with safety and regulatory audits
  • Coordinate the hazardous waste removal and handling procedures
  • Assist in the administration with customer inquiries on shipping, handling, and disposal of chemicals
  • Assist in generating literature for orders, SDS, etc.
  • Train employees on safety procedures
  • Obtain and maintain OSHA certifications
  • Support implementation of an effective preventative maintenance program to ensure the stewardship of DRS assets
  • Respond to problems and issues in a tactful and expedient manner
  • Support facilities inspections and reporting requirements
  • Collect data and generates reports and metrics
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
