About The Position

Ascent Resources is seeking an experienced EHS Associate Specialist Completions and Water Transfer. This position is located in Cambridge, Ohio and will report to the EHS Supervisor. The EHS Associate Specialist (Completions and Water Transfer) is responsible for developing, implementing, and promoting safety programs across Ascent Resources operations. This person will oversee the day-to-day EHS activities across the Completions and Water Transfer operations. This is a strategic, hands-on role requiring strong leadership, communication, EHS knowledge, and the ability to drive a proactive safety culture.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of EHS regulations and requirements related to the oil and gas industry with specific focus on Completions (hydraulic fracturing, rig workover, drill-out) and Water Transfer operations
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of workplace regulatory requirements including familiarity with OSHA, ODNR, EPA, NFPA, ANSI, and other local, state, federal requirements
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze safety data, identify trends, diagnose problems, and propose effective solutions
  • Strong leadership and organization, with the ability to direct and achieve priorities, goals, and strategies with limited supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-changing environment with limited oversight
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build relationships, maintain a positive work environment, and effectively collaborate with contractors/vendors, operations, and EHS Teams
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with Ascent Resources core values
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues which may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes
  • Technical writing includes incident reports, EHS standards, formal communications, and other documents as needed.
  • Ability to work in both office and field environment (75% field / 25% office)
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered
  • Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems
  • Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department
  • Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with and work well with others in order to manage projects, meetings, and interactions with government agencies
  • Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence people and drive change
  • Exceptional organizational skills with high consideration to detail
  • Must possess time management skills and have the ability to meet deadlines
  • Works well independently and in a group environment
  • Must be able to be entrusted with confidential information
  • Proficient knowledge of computers and typical production software (e.g., MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, TEAMS, PowerPoint, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the direct EHS point of contact for Completions and Water Transfer operations team
  • Perform EHS evaluations, risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance
  • Ability to respond to incidents 24/7/365 as needed
  • Conduct site EHS evaluations, risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the Ascent Resources EHS Programs specifically those that directly impact the Completions and Water Transfer operations.
  • Contractor/Vendor management for Completions and Water Transfer contractors including:
  • Contractor/Vendor Onboarding
  • Performance Improvement Plans
  • Contractor/Vendor outreach / meetings
  • Track operational and safety risks. Develop and manage strategic risk management strategies to avoid potential incidents
  • Emergency Management functions as assigned by the Emergency Response Plan
  • Incident response and management including investigations and the development of incident corrective actions
  • Promote a positive and proactive culture to influence stakeholders, and to ensure compliance
  • Monitor injury, illness, and incident reports. Provide recommendations on how to prevent risk
  • Monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental regulatory compliance within the account
  • Coordinate with management to create strategic solutions that improve and maintain compliance as required
  • Work with stakeholders to identify potential concerns. Communicate findings, concerns, and deficiencies to responsible functional managers
  • EHS functions including training, exercises, workshops, audits, and other duties as assigned
