About the position

Join Frito-Lay Now! We are seeking our new EHS Senior Associate! This role ensures compliance with environmental regulations and supports the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager. Key responsibilities include managing administrative tasks, leading safety and sustainability initiatives (e.g., Pep+ Green Team), coordinating audits, and interacting with regulatory agencies like OSHA and the EPA. The role also involves training employees, overseeing safety events, and tracking resource usage to drive conservation efforts. The position supports PepsiCo's Global Environmental Health & Safety Standards and promotes a culture of safety and compliance across the site.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, county, and city environmental permitting requirements, as well as other environmental regulations.
  • Support the site Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, database tracking, data entry, and updating and communicating scorecards.
  • Assist the EHS Manager with internal and headquarters audits.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, state/local regulators) and Division/HQ safety professionals.
  • Leadership and participation in planning and executing site safety events.
  • Develop & lead the local Pep+ Green Team to drive our usage for gas, electricity, and water per pound to target.
  • Implement the National Pep Positive initiatives.
  • Take point on the resource conservation saving initiatives.
  • Led the site safety committee and green team.
  • Ensure adherence to PepsiCo Global Environmental Health & Safety Standards (GEHSMS).
  • Support safety/environmental programs and coordinate quarterly reviews with all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate safety/environmental audits and assessments to achieve best-in-class status.
  • Identify, report, and rectify potential safety/environmental violations through appropriate channels.
  • Track, monitor, and report utility usage, identifying high usage and engaging the appropriate individuals.
  • Participate in incident investigations using root cause analysis techniques.
  • Develop training calendars and materials to ensure site compliance.
  • Provide classroom training on a broad range of EHS topics.
  • Engage and develop team members in EHS programs.
  • Provide training support for current employees and new hire onboarding.
  • Manage the MyEHS calendar and ensure task execution.
  • Work with city inspectors/auditors for regulatory permitting and reports (air, storm water, wastewater, waste, fuel, etc.) to ensure permits and reports are filed on time.
  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure compliance with Frito Lay EHS standards.

Requirements

  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • GED or High School Diploma REQUIRED.
  • Knowledgeable about OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Familiar with WWT systems and requirements, including pH, compliance, and monitoring/testing of TSS/CBOD/PH.
  • Possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Capable of handling highly confidential information.
  • Reliable with a solid attendance record.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule to support a 24/7 operation.
  • Able to interact with and motivate employees to drive involvement in EHS programs.
  • Effective communicator with all levels of the organization, capable of leading and influencing tactical and strategic planning.
  • Able to give and receive performance-based feedback with a focus on personal and professional development.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, requiring minimal supervision and following through on commitments.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.

Benefits

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $53,600 - $80,450.
  • Paid time off is subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sickness, and bereavement.
