About the position

The EHS&S Training Specialist at JR Automation is responsible for delivering safety and sustainability training, managing the Safety Learning Management System, and ensuring compliance with safety training records. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to develop training programs, utilizing adult learning best practices, and assessing training needs for employees. The specialist will also manage training logistics, maintain training facilities, and support the development of a positive safety culture within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trainer/instructor specializing in Safety and Sustainability Training.
  • Manage all aspects of JR Automation's Safety Learning Management System.
  • Ensure accurate and complete safety training recordkeeping.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement training programs.
  • Utilize adult learning best practices for effective training delivery.
  • Assess training needs for new and existing employees.
  • Identify training programs to address competency gaps and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain and improve high hazard industry training.
  • Develop training aids such as manuals and handbooks.
  • Facilitate learning through various delivery methods including classroom and virtual training.
  • Design and report on assessment tools to measure training effectiveness.
  • Track and report on training outcomes and compliance metrics.
  • Handle logistics for in-house training activities.
  • Pursue government incentives for skill development funding.
  • Manage in-house training facilities and equipment.
  • Coordinate Emergency Response Team training.
  • Act as an EHS&S partner to build a positive Safety and Sustainability culture.
  • Mentor and coach team members on safety practices.
  • Collaborate across functional groups to implement EHS&S programs.
  • Maintain facility and EHS&S building needs such as signage and first aid equipment.
  • Participate in company projects representing Health, Safety, and Environment.
  • Attain EHS related certificates and education for job functions.
  • Coordinate safety-culture-improvement efforts and proactive safety programs.
  • Participate in division level safety walks/audits.
  • Support divisions as an EHS&S Specialist as needed.
  • Communicate EHS&S needs across the organization.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in safety or teaching with a focus on safety and sustainability.
  • Understanding of MIOSHA/OSHA and emerging sustainability regulations.
  • Strong safety awareness and understanding of teaching methodologies.
  • Ability to cater to different learning needs and manage competing priorities.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially PowerPoint.
  • Experience with e-learning software and strong technology skills.
  • Good time-management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
