About The Position

San Antonio Shoemakers (SAS), a San Antonio, Texas based privately held company, has been in business for over 40 years and has developed a reputation as a premier American manufacturer of high quality comfort footwear. SAS has an Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety Representative. Job Responsibilities: Assist leadership in establishing, promoting and maintaining a workplace safety culture in alignment with company values. Execute specific awareness campaigns, as directed by leadership, to further promote safe behavior. Assist in the development and maintenance of EHS policies and procedures. Assist in identifying, developing and implementing effective and feasible risk control. Conduct safety and environmental inspections and audits to verify compliance with applicable regulations and identify unsafe condition/behaviors. Organize and archive both safety and environmental documentation required by either company policy or regulation. Interact with OSHA and other safety and environmental agencies. Conduct research projects to identify and monitor the operation’s current environmental performance and comparing data to established performance standards. Conduct environmental and industrial hygiene sampling and testing as directed. Maintain a current “Authorized Driver List” for the facility of assignment, and identify and correct gaps with applicable company policy. Facilitate classroom occupational safety and environmental compliance training.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Occupational Safety/Environmental Certification
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and Outlook
