About The Position

#TeamAAM is looking for an EHS Representative to join our team in Oxford, MI. The Environmental Health and Safety Representative is responsible for programs that protect associates, visitors, and the environment from hazards at the facility. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing environmental and health activities to ensure associate engagement, regulatory compliance and implement the EHS management system to protect human health and the environment. Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant experience (preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment) and/or higher education related to EHS.
  • Strong, proven ability to analyze, create reports and deliver continuous improvements.
  • Ability to clarify, quantify and document complex requirements and embrace changes/adaptions through the entire lifecycle.
  • Strong computer skills in MS-Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Implements and monitors EHS programs.
  • Assures appropriate federal, state, and locally mandated requirements are met including regular inspections and permit requirements.
  • Assures mechanisms for assessing and addressing risks or hazards to plant personnel and environment are in place and effective.
  • Monitors existing infrastructure and processes for compliance and potential risks or hazards.
  • Conducts periodic EHS inspections as part of a layered audit process.
  • Advises and trains on regulations and safe practices.
  • Coordinates permits from federal and state agencies. Reviews reports and documentation; participates in internal and external audits including, but not limited to ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and ISO 45001.
  • Assures safety orientation training and documentation are in place.
  • Oversees investigations of causes of accidents, injuries, or illnesses; assures reports of findings and solutions for minimizing or preventing recurrence are completed in a timely manner.
  • Provides support to senior management in addressing EHS-related issues.
  • Manages the process of preparing for, mitigating, responding to, and recovering from, an emergency.
  • Maintains communications with local emergency-service providers (fire, police, paramedics, etc.). Ensures that outside emergency services are called in when necessary.
  • Analyzes safety data trends and recommends corrective strategies to implement.
  • Manages corporate-mandated Safety, Environmental and Sustainability Initiatives.
  • All other duties as assigned.
