About The Position

Frontier-Kemper, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking an EHS Representative to join our Kensico-Eastview Connection Tunnel Project in White Plains, New York. As an EHS Representative at Frontier-Kemper, reporting to the Project Safety Manager, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the Health and Safety of our Kensico-Eastview Connection Tunnel Project. The EHS Rep will monitor and enforce the individual Health and Safety plans of each project in conjunction with the site safety reps to ensure that the following requirements are fulfilled for each project.

Requirements

  • OSHA 30 credential is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Health & Safety related program from an accredited institution.
  • 5 or more years’ experience as a manager or supervisor of safety teams.
  • 10 or more years of heavy civil construction experience.
  • Experience in underground construction, TBM experience highly preferred.
  • Familiarity and experience with NYCDEP safety and health regulations.
  • Current certification in first aid and CPR by the American Red Cross or its equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 software.
  • Current certifications in LOTO Training, Confined Space Training, RCRA Training, HAZWOPER 30 Hour OSHA, and other BEDC Training.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and enforce individual Health and Safety plans of each project.
  • Train and mentor employees.
  • Plan, assign, delegate, and direct work.
  • Appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, and resolve employee issues.
  • Maintain a SAFE jobsite, monitor safety, and take appropriate action to correct any safety issues or deficiencies.
  • Oversee and interact with management and crews during daily work activities.
  • Purchase and distribute Safety equipment (PPE).
  • Provide safety orientations and daily stretch & Flex along with toolbox talks.
  • Ensure compliance with all JHAs and EHASP.
  • Monitor activities at multiple construction sites and inspect construction sites daily.
  • Assist Project Manager and/or Superintendents with the development and monitoring of job-specific safety plans and JHAs.
  • Review accident procedures and prepare accident reports for any incidents that occur.
  • Maintain MSDS and Hazardous Communication Program.
  • Complete incident reports and maintain files.
  • Gather toolbox reports from foreman and subcontractors.
  • Generate daily reports from daily site activities.
  • Monitor all accidents and maintain appropriate paperwork and files.
  • Gather Monthly Safety Hours from subcontractors for the monthly report.
  • Conduct Safety audits and manage hazardous working conditions.
  • Supervise and conduct safety and first aid training of staff at project sites.
  • Document all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions/activities.
  • Conduct investigations for each accident occurrence or violation.
  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly field documentation to ensure all required records and reports are complete and accurate.
  • Accompany all safety, health, and insurance inspectors on walk-through tours.
  • Perform additional assignments at the supervisor’s request.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $145,000 – $165,000 depending upon experience.
