Requirements

  • High school education or state recognized GED, or equivalent combination of education.
  • Prior forklift training/certification preferred.
  • Material handling experience preferred.
  • Experience with hazardous waste preferred.
  • Willingness to understand basic hazardous waste safety protocol through class training.
  • Must have basic English skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, contracted services and other employees within the Company.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Move materials between departments and external storage using various methods.
  • Perform monthly documented inspections of emergency spill kits, ladders, and other safety-related equipment.
  • Receive work assignments and instructions oral and/or written from supervision.
  • Operate forklift trucks and/or manually push pallet jacks to transport recyclables, hazardous waste, universal waste, EHS supplies, safety supplies such as oil, oil dry, spill kits, trash and scrap, dumping into larger containers at designated areas.
  • Record all material movements on worksheets or other prescribed records.
  • Operate floor cleaning equipment and vehicle sweepers to maintain facility cleanliness.
  • Maintain work areas and equipment in a neat, safe, clean, and orderly condition.
  • Attend annual hazardous waste and DOT training classes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Support a clean and organized facility through strong housekeeping practices.
