Your potential is our inspiration. Where You’ll Make a Difference Management responsibility for the EHS team. Responsible for the hiring/termination of all EHS personnel and the annual management of their performance and development. Ensure the highest level of safety in all operations at the site by managing a program of safety reviews, task risk assessments, and safety-related training and awareness programs linked both to site risks and corporate programs. Maintain reporting required for legal compliance for OSHA and Environmental bodies, as well as corporate requirements. Responsible for management and oversight of site waste handling and treatment processes, and the objective of “zero to landfill” through a Green team. Work closely with the Leadership team to maintain ISO 14001 certification Work closely with site leadership to ensure Contractor management policies are implemented and applied in all areas of the site Align EHS goals with Operating Model objectives and reporting, and lead related activities of problem-solving and the Gemba walk program Serve as the primary point of contact for EHS-related matters at the site, both internally and externally Roll out all corporate-driven MOCs and policies, ensuring they are proactively applied at the site Support and participate in activities that promote employee ownership and engagement in E,H&S, and the development of Safety Culture Support the site's incident investigation system, ensuring proper classification, thorough root cause investigations, and appropriate corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence. Ensure all reporting is completed as per policy. Gather data and maintain systems to track safety metrics, including Safety Observations, Near misses, and Safety Incidents Provide training and support as needed to all departments based on the annual E,H&S training program to implement the applicable IFF global regulatory policies. Implement and support case management, working closely with site leadership and the site’s medical case manager to manage injuries/illnesses effectively. Ensure proper injury/illness classifications and OSHA recordkeeping are completed. Coordinate annual medical exams and related Occupational Health assessments. Maintain training and planning to support Carrollton’s response teams, in drills and actual incidents The EHS Manager will sponsor and drive all continuous improvement initiatives related to Health, Safety, and Environmental activities Establish and oversee the Site Safety Committee and related meetings and activities Work closely with Project teams to ensure changes and CapEx-related installations are compliant Work closely with Procurement and relevant vendors to ensure stock of PPE and other safety equipment, and/or a high level of service Support site initiatives to reduce cost without sacrificing quality or safety Other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in the EHS field or equivalent progressive work experience to compensate for the degree.
  • Minimum of 6 years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a food plant or related business
  • Successful experience in developing a Safety Culture
  • Knowledge of Safe Behaviors and Practices, as well as Machine Safety
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills: demonstrated ability to work effectively, professionally, and respectfully in a team-based environment to involve peers, customers, line management, and technical competency experts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence teams and resolve conflicts in support of organizational goals.

  • Ability to train personnel as it relates to OSHA and Corporate-wide safety requirements.

  • Computer and technical literacy; demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office software (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel).
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Six Sigma certification.
  • Knowledge of Taproot or similar root‑cause methodologies.
