Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, this Summer, we’re looking to add an Environmental, Health, and Safety Intern located in our Austin, TX site. Reporting to the Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager, the student will work on technically challenging projects in support of real-time business opportunities, while developing skillsets and experiences.

Requirements

  • Junior/Senior student currently pursuing Engineering or Science related degree.
  • Enthusiastic about working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical background with business-oreinted focus.
  • Highly collaborative, creative and excellent communication skills.
  • Available to start on May 26th and work 40 hours/week (in-person) for 10-12 week Summer assignment
  • Currently enrolled in 4-year accredited university
  • 3.0 minimum GPA

  • Previous internship experience a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Investigating incidents and providing guidance to reduce and prevent incidents from occurring again.
  • Performing surveys and other sampling techniues to ensure controls are in place.
  • Managing metrics for sustainability and other related certifications such as UL Zero Waste.
  • Supporting the EHS team in aligning New Business Opportunities (NBO) with current EHS programs from project level to full production.
  • Supporting the EHS team in managing environmental permits i.e. air, waste water, storm water, spill prevention.
  • Participating and providing support to the Emergency Response Team organization.
  • Interfaces with engineers and facilities personnel on environmental, health, and safety matters and escalations.
  • Working on annual or key review projects such as chemical SDS inventory, review of LOTO program, or participating in a Small Group Activity (SGA) or Kaizen.
