About The Position

The Environmental Health and Safety Intern will play a crucial role in supporting and coordinating our safety and health initiatives. This position is designed to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free workplace that complies with OSHA regulations and industry best practices. This internship will begin on May 26, 2026 and end on August 14, 2026.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a two or four-year program in a related field, such as Environmental Safety and Risk Management.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Aptitude for technology.
  • Ability to work effectively with management as well as with associates on the plant floor.
  • Willingness to grow within the Safety & Health space, including seeking additional training and certifications.
  • Ability to frequently stand and walk around the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Safety & Health activities at a manufacturing site to comply with all applicable regulations, company processes, policies, programs, and procedures to promote a best-in-class safety culture centered on injury prevention.
  • Champion all Safety & Health activities within the facility by working closely with department leadership, employees, and site management to recognize, generate and implement ideas to continually improve safety performance through a mix of leading and lagging indicator-driven efforts and initiatives.
  • Assist the team with conducting Safety & Health audits, including documenting findings and producing reports.
  • Provide information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
  • Assist with the testing and servicing of safety equipment and systems.
  • Follow up on root cause and corrective actions data entry in incident reporting system.
