As an EHS Field Specialist at Ardent Mills, you will play a crucial role in implementing safety programs that ensure a safe and accident-free work environment. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver comprehensive training programs for managers and employees, focusing on workplace safety practices, environmental requirements, and facility security measures. You will maintain a robust system to track facility inspections, safety violations, and the manner of resolution, along with follow-up reports. Additionally, you will participate in accident investigations and prepare detailed accident reports to enhance safety protocols and prevent future incidents. In this position, you will manage, support, and drive multi-mill Environment, Health and Safety (EHandS) and Facility Defense programs. Your efforts will be directed towards minimizing environmental impact and fostering a safe, hazard-free work environment. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a facility-wide EHS culture that emphasizes ownership and accountability through technical support, program development, and relationship building with various departments. Your role will also involve planning and delivering training programs for managers and employees on work site safety practices. You will promote plant safety by collaborating with all departments to analyze current safety situations and recommend necessary improvements. Investigating and reviewing injuries and illnesses will be part of your duties to determine if they result from unsafe work practices or environments. You will analyze injury data to identify trends and types of injuries that can be prevented, ensuring compliance with the company's Facility Defense aspects and applicable EPA and environmental regulations. Furthermore, you will conduct management and supervisory training on current safety topics across Ardent Mills locations, ensuring that contractor training compliance is adequate. You will review proposed or new regulations for content and develop or incorporate them into existing EHS policies, procedures, and programs. Timely and appropriate corrective actions to all Environment, Security, and Health and Safety compliance audits will be your responsibility, along with managing environmental permit conditions and ensuring timely submissions of renewal applications. You will also coordinate various environmental activities, including Sustainable Development and Zero Waste initiatives.
