What you will be doing as an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer: In this role, you can expect to design, advise, and support Environmental Health and Safety programs that keep our manufacturing operations safe and running smoothly. You’ll work hands‑on with teams across multiple areas of aircraft production, ensuring policies are followed and risks are minimized. Your expertise will help strengthen a culture of safety throughout Textron Aviation. Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): · Safety & Environmental Program Leadership\: Develop and implement safety and environmental policies that meet corporate, federal, state, and local regulations, and lead solutions that enhance workplace safety, compliance, and environmental performance · Cross‑Functional EHS Collaboration\: Partner with multifunctional teams to strengthen a positive safety culture, provide subject‑matter expertise, and support leaders in executing best-practice EHS initiatives · Incident Response & Ergonomic Evaluation\: Assist in incident investigations using root‑cause analysis and recommend prevention strategies, while also conducting preliminary ergonomic assessments to identify risks and improvement opportunities · Training, Coaching & Employee Engagement\: Design, develop, and deliver EHS training programs, manuals, and materials, and provide positive coaching to reinforce safe behaviors and employee awareness · Compliance, Reporting & Regulatory Interaction\: Maintain environmental permits, ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal standards, prepare environmental reports, coordinate hazardous‑waste shipments, and interact professionally with regulatory agencies · Corporate & Community EHS Participation\: Attend corporate and Textron Aviation EHS meetings to communicate updates to leadership, and participate in community or industry EHS groups to support broader safety initiatives What you need to be successful: Required · Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Health Services Management, Medical Administration, Engineering, or a related field · A minimum 5 years related experience Helpful · Strong analytical skills and the ability to learn new concepts quickly · Clear written and verbal communication skills · Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma principles preferred · Computer proficiency with a basic understanding of EPA and OSHA regulations Why join us?
