To support our extraordinary team who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an EH&S Engineer/Specialist located in Henrico Virginia. This position will report to the Site EH&S Manager while developing a strong cooperative relationship with the Plant leadership team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field required; relevant experience may be substituted for education.
• At least 7+ years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial environment required, preferably in manufacturing or construction.
• Prior certification in AED, First Aid/CPR, and OSHA standards preferred.
• Specific program experience i.e. Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Machine Safety, Risk Assessments (JHA, JSA, RA), Electrical Safety, Confined Space, Emergency Preparedness, Ergonomics, PPE, Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and Arial Work Platforms (AWP), Hearing Conservation, Working at Heights, Incident Analysis (Fishbone, 5-Why).

Responsibilities

• Help create a culture that identifies, eliminates, and controls hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage using safety standards, best management practices, and analytical techniques along with Behavior based safety programs.
• Direct and organize EHS-related projects for the site.
• Serve as EHS Engineer for site: Oversee Environmental Health, Safety and sustainability reporting and compliance.
• Champion the Safety Committee and act as a resource to sub committees.
• Responsible for leading cross-functional safety teams and work groups as required.
• Assist in the day-to-day activities and communications regarding Safety.
• Provide support to manufacturing staff and focus on safety awareness, prevention, and training.
• Assist site management in implementing health and safety programs and procedures.
• Develop, maintain, and disseminate a variety of safety information and training topics.
• Coordinate training program for EHS&S related trainings.
• Ensure OSHA, EPA, and other EH&S compliance.
• Meet compliance and reporting requirements of federal &/or state regulations.
• Meet all site required documentation related to safety issues (i.e. accident reports, inspection reports, training logs, etc.).
• Maintain systems to track key EHS&S performance indicators.
• Manage risk prevention activities including accidents, emergencies, or other unsafe conditions.
• Coordinate audits: EHS, IH, Loss Control Incident Investigation, Plant Noise Sampling, etc.
• Review and implement recommendations/corrective actions from audits as agreed upon.
• Work with cross functional team on safety inspections, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct regular review of existing EHS&S programs to maintain regulatory and corporate compliance.
