About The Position

The EHS Coordinator at Rieke LLC is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and health legislative obligations in the workplace, maintaining relevant certifications, and implementing the company's safety programs. This role involves managing the implementation of ISO 45001, incident management, and leading the EHS Committee. The coordinator will also ensure that risk management reports are reviewed, EHS reviews are integrated into the Management of Change process, and that EHS compliance calendars are maintained. The position requires leading site weekly EHS walks, identifying training needs, conducting audits, and maintaining EHS records. The role is based on-site at the Auburn, Indiana location and requires collaboration with various facilities across multiple states.

Requirements

  • Understanding of all components of an EHS Program, including accident investigation, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, life safety, machine guarding, air permitting, wastewater, hazardous waste, property conservation, and workers' compensation.
  • Bachelor's degree or above in safety engineering or other engineering discipline.
  • Certification in Environmental and safety management.
  • At least 5 years of related work experience and over 3 years of team management experience in EHS.
  • Experience in a manufacturing company is essential.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Organizational agility to work in a matrix organization with multiple reporting responsibilities.
  • Action and work-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Politically savvy with a proven track record in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Compliance with legislative obligations regarding safety and health in the workplace; maintaining the relevant certifications.
  • Implementation of the Company's safety programs.
  • Responsible for the implementation of ISO 45001 and maintaining EHS Management Systems.
  • Incident management, including accident investigation and reporting.
  • Lead EHS Committee and maintain minutes and agendas.
  • Review and address key exposures in Risk Management reports.
  • Integrate EHS reviews into the Management of Change process.
  • Lead site weekly EHS walks and manage actions to improve safety standards.
  • Identify and record EHS training needs and provide training as required.
  • Ensure timely internal and external EHS audits and document corrective actions.
  • Maintain EHS records to comply with local legislative requirements.
  • Lead the Corporate EHS Audit Program as an auditor.
  • Support external consultants and ensure necessary licenses and permits are in place.
