About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Admin to join our team at our Chatsworth facility. This role will support with admin duties and gain critical knowledge through supporting our commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees while maintaining compliance with environmental and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess excellent time management skills, and have a strong interest in safety program management. Current Environmental Health and Safety degree candidates are welcome to apply. Salary for this role is expected to be $49,000-56,000 per year depending on experience.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, or a related field or possession of a degree in a related field.
  • Prior administrative experience.
  • Basic understanding of OSHA regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to train and motivate staff towards maintaining high safety standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new compliance-related software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and report them to EHS Manager for evaluation and review.
  • Coordinate and conduct employee training on applicable safety topics, such as handling hazardous materials, emergency response, and workplace safety best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
  • Assist in the investigation of accidents and near-misses, identifying root causes, and documenting findings.
  • Support in maintaining all required environmental permits and working with EHS Manager to ensure timely renewal and compliance.
  • Collaborate with HR and departmental leaders to enhance employee engagement in safety initiatives through supporting safety programs.
  • Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
  • Assist in the documentation of proper disposal of hazardous waste according to environmental laws and regulations with guidance from EHS Manager.
