About The Position

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Administrative Assistant at Carestream Health Inc. plays a vital role in supporting the EHS Director and the core subject matter expert team. This position is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and maintaining documentation related to EHS policies, procedures, compliance standards, and training materials. The EHS Administrative Assistant ensures that all technical information is communicated clearly, accurately, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations, thereby keeping EHS information organized and accessible for the team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of experience in a research, writing, or EHS assistant position OR Associate's Degree and 3 years of experience in technical writing or administrative support role with an emphasis in writing.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with MLA, APA, or other citation formats.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adept in technical writing.
  • Highly organized and efficient.
  • Excellent research skills.
  • Highly motivated.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.

Nice To Haves

  • A BS/BA in English, Journalism, Communication, or similar field with a strong emphasis on writing.
  • Experience in an EHS Technical Assistant position.
  • Sample collection and custody knowledge.
  • Regulatory and compliance document research knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Research archives, regulations, standards, and legislation to provide the core team with up-to-date access to critical information.
  • Prepare briefs for the core team and the Director to ensure compliance with materials, chemical, safety, and environmental concerns.
  • Schedule and manage compliance sampling and regulatory reporting submissions.
  • Schedule EHS training and manage the training calendar to ensure all employee training is compliant.
  • Ensure accurate permit applications, modifications, air emission reports, and various regulatory reporting to agencies globally.
  • Maintain chemical compliance data archives, including writing compliance briefs and managing waste manifests.
  • Organize and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) archives and schedule PSM training for the EHS site team.
  • Research EU and US compliance matters under the direction of the Director and core team.
  • Maintain project calendar and update progress as needed.
  • Provide the Director with updates on enterprise-wide compliance research.
  • Maintain publication subscriptions and attend application platform meetings.
