The EHR Application Support Specialist II plays a crucial role in the analysis, configuration, and support of EHR applications, specifically eClinicalWorks. This position is responsible for optimizing EHR software implementation, ensuring continuity of operations, and maintaining data integrity and quality. The Specialist collaborates closely with various teams to provide effective solutions and support for EHR-related workflows in a public sector ambulatory health setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Systems, Business, or a related domain.
  • 5+ years of experience with progressive responsibility in a related field.
  • Proficiency in EHR system configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and support functions.
  • Ability to learn and master new support tools and systems.
  • Good oral, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-centric environment.
  • Knowledge of help desk software and ability to create and interpret process diagrams.
  • Understanding of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) as it pertains to EHR applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of eClinicalWorks in an ambulatory environment.
  • Certification in eClinicalWorks or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and previous training or certification.
  • Experience with SQL or IBM Cognos.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, particularly data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the complete configuration of the EHR system and integrated companion products.
  • Match end user requirements with effective solutions and ensure application functionality and compliance with workflows.
  • Evaluate requested configuration changes and ensure they meet expectations and adhere to business rules.
  • Confirm successful testing of application changes in production and non-production environments.
  • Document system configuration, issue resolutions, and procedures in Configuration Workbooks and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Develop and execute test plans to evaluate application functionality throughout development and deployment cycles.
  • Provide first and second-level EHR HelpLine customer support via telephone, email, and remote assistance.
  • Utilize help desk software to capture relevant information regarding reported end user issues.
  • Support troubleshooting, approval, analysis, and reporting as part of Request, Incident, and Change Management.
  • Maintain data quality in electronic patient records and support identification of duplicate records.
  • Assist with Asset Inventory, Comprehensive Testing, Project Planning, and Solution design.
  • Self-manage time and provide status updates on assigned tasks.
  • Follow departmental standards for analysis, design, configuration, and testing regarding change control.
  • Engage in ongoing training activities and assist with user EHR application training as needed.
