About The Position

The EHD Foundation Intern will play a role in supporting the Foundation’s purpose in providing philanthropic funding to support the mission and vision of the School of Education and Human Development. This position offers hands-on experience in development, alumni engagement, and supporting strategic initiatives. Intern will work closely with the Executive Director of Development and the Foundation Team to assist with projects that strengthen donor relationships, enhance alumni involvement, and support the Foundation’s long-term objectives.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Interest in development, fundraising, and alumni relations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new tools
  • Current undergrad or graduate UVA student

Responsibilities

  • Community Engagement & Representation: Serve as an ambassador for the EHD Foundation, representing the organization at events and fostering connections within the UVA community.
  • Development Support: Assist with planning and executing development initiatives, including donor stewardship, and special projects that align with fundraising and engagement activities.
  • Event Coordination: Provide logistical and administrative support for development-related events, ensuring successful execution and positive participant experiences.
  • Research & Historical Documentation: Contribute to research projects, including compiling historical records, conducting interviews, and preparing materials for milestone celebrations such as the Foundation’s 50th anniversary.
  • Data & Resource Management: Help maintain and organize development-related data, including digital files, to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
  • Creative Outreach: Support personalized donor engagement efforts, including outreach for events and unique stewardship activities.
