We are currently looking for a Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team in our Columbus, Ohio office. Position Summary: The Environmental, Heath, and Safety (EHS) Specialist supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. This role is well suited for an early-career professional, including recent graduates or individuals with internship experience in environmental science, environmental engineering, occupational safety, or a related field. This position will place particular emphasis on environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives while also supporting broader workplace safety and health programs. The EHS Specialist will work closely with operations, facilities, and leadership teams to promote a safe workplace and ensure environmental responsibilities are met across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in environmental, health, or safety roles.
  • Basic understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also partnering effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or co-op experience in environmental compliance, sustainability, or EHS programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including air, water, and waste management requirements.
  • Support environmental permitting, reporting, and recordkeeping activities.
  • Help monitor and track environmental metrics such as emissions, waste generation, recycling, and energy usage.
  • Participate in environmental audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Assist with preparation of environmental reports and documentation for regulatory agencies.
  • Support initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact and improving sustainability performance.
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of workplace safety programs and policies.
  • Participate in workplace safety inspections and hazard identification activities.
  • Support incident investigations and help track corrective actions.
  • Help maintain safety documentation, training records, and compliance files.
  • Assist with safety training coordination and employee awareness programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support EHS initiatives and compliance activities.
  • Help track key EHS metrics and support reporting to leadership.
  • Assist with development and communication of EHS procedures, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Stay informed on evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
