See how your contributions will help transform vision into reality: Position Overview We are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Specialist II to join our team! Land ’N’ Sea Distributing is a full‑service, wholesale‑only distributor serving the Marine, RV, and Powersports industries for over 50 years. With thousands of different parts and accessories available from warehouses nationwide, Land ’N’ Sea prides itself on fast, efficient delivery throughout the U.S. and Canada. In cooperation with Mercury Marine’s Latin America and Caribbean division, Land ’N’ Sea also serves over 60 additional countries worldwide. The EH&S Specialist II is responsible for ensuring the safety and health of all employees and visitors. This position will develop and implement safety plans, conduct training, investigate incidents, manage compliance programs, and recommend corrective actions to reduce risk. The role provides EH&S support for up to six U.S. locations and requires up to 20% domestic travel . Requirements

  • BS/BA in Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • RCRA & DOT Hazmat Certification required; OSHA 10, OSHA 30, OSHA 501, CSP, RCRA, DOT Hazmat, and HAZWOPER certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience as a safety leader within a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment.
  • In‑depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations and compliance procedures.
  • Experience designing and delivering safety training programs.
  • Experience writing EH&S reports, policies, and documentation.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and safety performance reporting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and working knowledge of safety management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute workplace health and safety plans in accordance with legal, federal, and state guidelines.
  • Prepare, update, and enforce EH&S policies to maintain a strong culture of safety.
  • Evaluate operational practices, procedures, and facilities to ensure risk mitigation and legal compliance.
  • Create and deliver EH&S training programs, presentations, and accident-prevention materials.
  • Monitor compliance with the Safety Management System (SMS), internal policies, and regulatory requirements through regular inspections.
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to identify unsafe conditions or hazards.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to determine root causes and oversee workers’ compensation claims for six locations.
  • Recommend and implement corrective actions and preventative measures to improve workplace safety.
  • Prepare and present reports on EH&S awareness, data trends, issues, and performance metrics.
  • Develop Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and conduct ergonomic assessments.
  • Partner closely with site leadership and Human Resources on safety-related initiatives.
  • Lead local safety teams and foster a collaborative culture with on‑site and off‑site safety coordinators.
  • Provide safety training and support for commercial drivers.
  • Manage hazardous and non‑hazardous waste programs for SQG compliance.
  • Maintain SPCC and related environmental compliance programs and support sustainability initiatives.
  • Complete Tier II and other required environmental reporting.
  • Plan, organize, and lead safety day/week events at the home location.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
