Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, EHS, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of industry experience, including prior EHS plant experience.
  • Experience with hazard identification, risk assessment, process safety management, audits, and root cause analysis.
  • 3+ years of experience managing safety programs, emergency planning, and environmental compliance.
  • EHS certifications such as CIH or CSP preferred.
  • Experience with PSM program.

Responsibilities

  • Support site management on all EHS aspects while coaching line managers to ensure accountability.
  • Develop and implement an EHS vision aligned with company strategy and local legislation.
  • Manage compliance with Federal, State, and local EHS regulations and act as primary contact for agencies.
  • Lead site-wide EHS training for employees and contractors, ensuring health and safety programs are implemented.
  • Support the behavior-based safety program and promote safety awareness at all levels.
  • Ensure emergency planning is effective and all required regulatory reports are submitted.
  • Track and analyze site safety audits, incidents, and near misses; report trends to management and lead corrective actions.
  • Facilitate the EHS program and serve as a resource for the Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) Team.
  • Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste activities, environmental programs (air, water, stormwater, hazardous waste), and required documentation.
  • Maintain relationships with external partners, communities, and authorities while collaborating with internal partners such as Regulatory, IT, and regional teams.
  • Lead problem-solving exercises to improve site safety and compliance performance.
  • Act as an emergency coordinator for all EHS and security-related incidents, leading response efforts and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
