About The Position

The EGYM Trainer is responsible for providing one-on-one orientation to members on the EGYM circuit. The EGYM trainer should also meet with the member after the orientation to share imbalances and share recommendations on additional training needs and share personal training opportunities available to the member. In addition, every position in the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc. is responsible for upholding the Judeo-Christian principles that are central to our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character - caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Personal Trainer Certification required.
• Sound working knowledge of accepted fitness standards and practices.
• Ability to develop and implement personal exercise programs.
• Ability to provide fitness testing.
• Ability to foster positive staff, peers, and program participants.
• CPR and First Aid required within 30 days of employment.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain authorization to work with children under the Georgia Department of Labor and YMCA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment and orientation on the EGYM circuit and HUB
• Complete follow up consultation with member to share feedback
• Suggest additional personal exercises for members tailored to their individual needs according to accepted fitness standards and practices
• Share with the member how personal training could compliment their EGYM training program
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the individual member during each instruction period
• Assist in the overall retention and satisfaction of YMCA members through appropriate customer service
• Assist in the Annual Campaign fundraising program for the YMCA
• Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude with staff, peers, and program participants
• Willingly perform other duties as assigned
