Responsibilities also include assisting in clinical procedures and treatments such as placing amalgam fillings, adapting temporary crowns, removing surgical sutures, and applying topical fluoride treatments, while adhering to state limitations. The assistant will record and review patient health history and chart entries under the doctor's direction, ensuring all forms and signatures are completed in the dental software. Additionally, the assistant will help manage medical and dental emergencies, provide postoperative instructions as prescribed by the dentist, and maintain the cleanliness of the dental practice both inside and outside.
