About The Position

This internship is an opportunity for an emerging designer to bring creative ideas to life in a fast-paced, professional marketing environment. As our graphic design intern, you’ll work on real campaigns seen by diverse audiences, designing everything from social media graphics and email visuals to ads, presentations, and branded collateral. You’ll collaborate with experienced marketers, refine concepts through feedback, and gain confidence using industry tools like Adobe Creative Suite and Canva. By the end of the internship, you’ll have hands-on experience, portfolio-worthy work and a better understanding of how strong design supports business and marketing goals. You will learn hands-on experience designing multi-channel marketing assets used by real audiences, how to balance creativity with usability, branding, and stakeholder requirements, professional workflows for concept development, revision, and final production, how to optimize designs for different formats, platforms, and audiences, collaboration skills working alongside marketers, coordinators, and project leads, and how to produce polished, portfolio-ready work that reflects real marketing objectives.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Canva.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize a must.
  • Professional demeanor required.

Responsibilities

  • Create and edit compelling artwork for use in marketing campaigns via multiple media including email, direct mail, digital newsletters, advertising, social media, blogs, presentations, press releases, and other collateral to support marketing and business goals of Extended Education Ventures’ (EEV’s) business units and clients. The intern will be provided with details for each project, such as the overall purpose of the piece, the text to be placed in the layout, image options, dimensions, quantities and due dates. The intern will be responsible for choosing appropriate images from the internal photo databases and combining them with the provided text to create appealing and dynamic layouts, usually based on the departments’ approved templates. Various marketing team members will provide feedback on the layouts and edits to the text, and the intern will be responsible for integrating those comments into the design.
  • Brainstorm concepts or strategies for new projects. This will involve proposing and presenting various concepts and then adjusting the layout based on feedback from the team and project stakeholders.
  • Prepare files for distribution. The intern will export files that are optimized for the medium in which the ads or collateral will appear, as well as packaging files to be shared with team members and vendors.
