Job Summary Performs routine and complex electroencephalograms on adult patients.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in END or completion of accredited program for END technologist required within 90 days of hire.
  • Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider Certification.
  • One (1) year of experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs evoked potentials (BAER, VEP, SEP) on both in and out patients.
  • Performs specialized recordings and monitoring of physiological phenomena.
  • Competent in gathering and analyzing patient information.
  • Performs patient care in advanced role under department supervisor.
  • Maintains accurate and precise documentation.
  • Communicates openly and effectively with all team members.
  • Effectively educates the patient and family.
  • Ability to prepare and calibrate equipment for testing and able to troubleshoot.
  • Documents and reports routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure and able to score and understand polysomnographic results.
  • Verifies integrity of collected data and complete the collection process (e.g. repeats physiological and instrumental calibrations and instruct patient/parent on completing questionnaires, etc.)
  • Maintains compliance within field and remains current with new techniques.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Participates in quality control, care and maintenance of equipment.
  • Participates in Performance Improvement activities as assigned.
  • Awareness of legal issues, patient rights and compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
