Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one-year experience in a hospital setting performing neurodiagnostic procedures.
  • Preference for candidates with registry from the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists, Inc. (REEGT).
  • CPR Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an AMA school of neurodiagnostics or a medical assistant course or its equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Perform EEG studies, EMGs, evoked potentials, epilepsy studies and other related examinations according to established standards and practices.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency for basic digital EEG including electrode placement and documentation.
  • Recognize and correct artifact, troubleshoot equipment and leads.
  • Set up long-term studies (Epilepsy) and ambulatory EEG, ensuring proper patient prep and data transfer.
  • Assist physicians in performing EMGs and prepare the necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain all patient reports and documentation, including notifying reading physicians of requests.
  • Take 'Call' on a rotating basis and respond to STAT calls with good judgement.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the lab and follow proper disinfection techniques.
  • Order supplies and restock as necessary.
  • Support the mission and vision of the Methodist Healthcare System and demonstrate excellent customer service.
  • Comply with safety policies and report unsafe conditions.
  • Adhere to the MHS Code of Conduct and demonstrate ethical behavior.
