About The Position

Colleton Medical Center is seeking an EEG Technician to join their team. This position involves performing various EEG tests under the direction of the EEG/Cardiopulmonary Director. The EEG Technician will work with patients of all ages, from neonatal to geriatric, and will be responsible for monitoring patients during tests, documenting observations, and reporting findings to physicians. The role requires proficiency in Neuro-Diagnostic equipment and a commitment to providing positive patient interactions.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED equivalent preferred.
• Degree from an accredited Electro-Diagnostic Technology program preferred.
• Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist Certification preferred.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification required.
• 1-3 years of EEG experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Explain the EEG test to the patient and obtain an accurate patient history.
• Demonstrate positive interpersonal skills with patients, families, and hospital staff.
• Measure and apply EEG electrodes accurately and efficiently.
• Calibrate, evaluate, and adjust EEG instruments to meet technical standards.
• Record EEG activity using standard montages and label machine settings and clinical observations.
• Clean electrodes and equipment, maintaining a safe and sanitary work area.
