About The Position

The position is part of the Neurology Services department at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham, scheduled for part-time days. The role involves performing diagnostic electroencephalograph (EEG) testing, which includes attaching, connecting, and operating electrodes from specified body areas to leads from the electroencephalograph machine. The technician will review patient records, instruct patients prior to procedures, monitor patients during procedures, and report any abnormal findings. Additionally, the technician will identify and correct artifacts, edit, and forward results to the attending physician for analysis and interpretation, as well as maintain EEG equipment and supplies.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Currently credentialed as an Electroencephalographic (EEG) technologist by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) preferred.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
