About The Position

The EEG Technician Assistant I is a skilled allied health professional who performs the diagnostic testing procedures of Electroencephalograms, in various forms, including routine, critical care and LTME (Long Term Monitoring for Epilepsy). EEG is used to measure and record the electrical activity of the brain. Applies practical knowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the central and peripheral nervous system is required to provide care appropriate to the patients receiving an EEG test. The EEG Technician Assistant I must demonstrate clinical application, age appropriate and population specific care and theoretical knowledge consistent with the current literature and accepted practice of the profession dictated by the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society (ACNS) or American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET). The Technician must demonstrate knowledge of basic principles of growth and development over the life span.

Requirements

  • Certified in American Heart Association Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation BLS. Will accept at time of new hire only American Red Cross BLS.
  • Associates degree in an Allied Health field required. May consider High School diploma or GED, with four years of relevant paid work experience as an EEG Technician in lieu of degree.
