About The Position
Responsible for providing patient care through diagnostic studies (EEG/EMG) under the supervision and direction of WTMG Neurologists. Provides care to a patient that results in Guest Excellence. The employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the Supervisor or Director.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, interpret, follow and apply oral and written procedures and perform mathematical calculations as normally acquired through high school graduation.
- One year experience as EEG/EMG trainee or technician minimum.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to a positive work environment and overall team effort of Neurosciences.
- Obtains accurate history of patient’s problem/behavior and document as required
- Prep the patient for EEG/EMG.
- Make patient as comfortable as possible and reduce patient anxiety through ADEIT
- Perform EEG / EMG per Physician protocol.
- Clean machine and equipment daily; check for proper operation and notify supervisor of any equipment problems.
- Change linen after each patient; maintain a clean and pleasant atmosphere.
- Requests patients through the Patient Transport System.
- Complete charge slips and all appropriate charting/reporting.
- Function as back-up coverage for Neuro Clinic when required.
- Perform Nerve Conduction Studies.
- Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
