Requirements

• Bilingual/bi-literate in both English and Spanish
• EEC Teacher or Lead Teacher Certified - or in process.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate emergent curriculum for young children
• Develop activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the program
• Develop culturally appropriate program and activities
• Implement positive discipline techniques in the classroom
• Clearly and effectively communicate with children, parents and staff
• Observe children and make note of progress in child-specific portfolios
• Discuss children's development with parents in bi-annual parent/teacher conferences
• Complete 20+ hours of professional development each year
• Keep parents informed of program expectations, program activities and their child's progress
• Ensure the facility and equipment are clean, well maintained and safe at all times
