About The Position

The Summer Camp Educator will deliver educational programs to summer camp participants, ranging from 1st grade through 9th grade. The Educator will follow established procedures to ensure content accuracy and proper care and use of Education materials and animals; promote a professional image and ensure a high level of customer service when teaching and representing the Downtown Aquarium. Requirements

Have a Bachelor of Science in education and/or science-related field required
Have at least 1-2 years of experience teaching in an informal education setting
Have experience teaching and presenting to multiple age levels and a variety of group sizes
Have experience or comfort with using a microphone
Are proficient in use of computers including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Are able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for six hours
You have a valid driver’s license
Are available to work end of May through end of July, Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm
Are able to pass a pre-employment background check

Responsibilities

Facilitates and teaches camp programs
Facilitates drop off and pick up at the start of camp
Facilitates drop of and pick up during before and after care
Assists in the preparation of camp materials for each day, takes inventory of supplies and maintains the supply for the duration of camp
Reports supply needs to Education Manager as required
Collaborates with other camp staff
