One California Job Summary and Responsibilities Position Summary Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of Education/Staff Development, the Education/Staff Development Educator is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and facilitating education and training programs for professional employees, clinical employees, non-professional employees, current or past patients, students, volunteers, and community members in order to provide the highest quality patient care and satisfaction. This may include orientation programs; in-services, of training programs including BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP; patient and/or community related education; on-line education programs and/or courses, and oversight of CE programs with the Board of Registered Nursing or other regulatory body requirements. . All educational programs will meet regulatory, professional, and hospital standards. Project/program design, course design, collecting data, and reporting data are all components of this position. Incumbents in this position may provide oversight of adequate instructor staff for courses offered including development and tracking of the schedule of courses, rooms, tools, and materials. Working variable hours may be required at times. The ability to work autonomously and in coordination with department directors, supervisors and other educators is essential. This may include but is not limited to participation in various committees throughout the organization. May participate in the organization of community based education and/or events as needed. This position requires the full understanding, demonstration and active participation in fulfilling the Mission, Vision and Values of the Organization.
