About The Position

The faculty position involves administrative, academic, service and scholarship responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the Program, School and Institution. Faculty are responsible for developing learning content, executing that content and evaluating student performance in the didactic curriculum. In addition to teaching responsibilities, faculty are expected to engage in research and other scholarly activities, clinical practice, and professional activities. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Requirements

• certified physician assistant
• at least three years clinical experience
• Master’s degree
• evidence of content expertise related to PA education
• Current certification by the NCCPA is required.
• Licensure or eligibility for PA licensure in Minnesota is required.

Nice To Haves

• PhD or academic doctoral degree equivalent (EdD, DSc), is preferred (or if in progress, a reasonable plan of completion).
• A professional doctorate (DMSc, DHSc) is also favorable.
• Prior teaching/precepting experience in a PA education program is preferred.
• A record of scholarly activity (peer-reviewed publications, peer-reviewed presentations, curriculum development, educational assessment/evaluation, research engagement) is preferred.
• Membership in professional organization(s) with evidence of involvement at the local, state and/or national levels is desirable.
