About The Position

Join Cottage Health as an Educator for the Mother Infant Unit . The Educator provides and coordinates education related to specialty area with significant collaboration across Women’s Services and partnership in oversight of community childbirth classes. Functions as a consultant and resource for education, role development, building collaborative partnerships, and research through evidence-based practice/quality improvement, orientation/onboarding of new hires and competency management. Specific job competencies include: Key Responsibilities: Consultant and Resource: Serve as a consultant for education, role development, and collaborative partnerships, while engaging in research through evidence-based practices, quality improvement, orientation, onboarding of new hires, and competency management. Ensure alignment with The Joint Commission, Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative (CMQCC) and applicable regulatory agencies. Learning Facilitator: Utilize the educational design process to address knowledge, skills, and practice gaps identified through needs assessments. Incorporate evidence based learning methodologies such as simulation and flipped classroom strategies. Leader, Mentor, and Advocate for Nursing Professional Development: Enhance the nursing profession by fostering the professional growth of others, supporting lifelong learning across various practice, professional, and educational settings. Influence interprofessional practices and the nursing development specialty. Change Agent and Partner for Practice Transitions: Actively work to transform processes within the unit and organizational systems. Facilitate change management through project management and process improvement practices, supporting transitions for nurses and healthcare team members across learning, practice environments, role transitions, and different professional stages. Champion for Scientific Inquiry: Encourage the generation and sharing of new knowledge, promoting the use of evidence to enhance nursing professional development practice, guide clinical practice, and improve patient care. Requirements
