About The Position
The Association of Test Preparation, Admissions, and Private Tutoring (TPAPT) is looking for a passionate Reading Therapist to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will work one-on-one with students who require reading intervention and support, using evidence-based strategies to enhance literacy skills. Position: Reading Therapist Location: On site at our learning center or remotely Classification: Contract (1099) Compensation: Competitive hourly rate The Role: Provide individualized instruction and support to students diagnosed with ASD1/ASD2 Utilize various assessment tools to identify specific areas of need for each student. Develop and implement personalized literacy plans that address students' unique challenges. Monitor student progress and make adjustments to instruction as needed. Collaborate with parents and educators to communicate student progress and strategies for support. Create a positive and encouraging learning environment that motivates students to achieve their reading goals.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Reading Education, Special Education, or Speech Language Pathology
- Experience working with students diagnosed with ASD1/ASD2
- Strong understanding of reading intervention strategies and evidence-based practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to build rapport and encourage students to enhance their reading skills.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including after-school and weekend sessions.
- Reliable weekly schedule
Nice To Haves
- Certification as a Reading Specialist or similar credential is a plus.
