About The Position

The Educational Specialist II position is a critical role within the Hawaii Department of Education, specifically under the Workforce Development Branch. This position serves as the primary interface between HIDOE middle schools and business and industry partners, providing leadership in the planning, development, implementation, and monitoring of workforce development initiatives. Requirements

  • Master's degree in education with specialization in a subject field appropriate to the area(s) of assignment.
  • Bachelor's degree in education plus two additional years of relevant experience in the subject field.
  • Six years of responsible professional work experience in education, including four years in teaching and two years in curriculum or program planning.

Nice To Haves

  • Three years as a state office or complex area educational officer or resource teacher.
  • Experience as a high school-level leader (e.g., school administrator, department head).
  • Knowledge of middle school philosophy and current research-based knowledge of educational and industry standards.
