About The Position
The job of Educational Sign Language Interpreter III is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibilities for assisting in the instruction or supervision of hearing impaired students; providing voice to sign and sign to voice support; and serving as a resource to other school personnel requiring assistance with hearing impaired persons. Effectively communicate classroom information between the teacher, the deaf student and other hearing students according to the language level of the student and the goals of the student's IEP. This job is distinguished from similar jobs by the following characteristics: providing communication facilitation between students who are deaf or hard of hearing, and others, in the general education classroom and for other school related activities, including extracurricular activities, as designated in the student's IEP; promoting meeting state-approved or state-recognized requirements for certification, licensing and registration or other comparable requirements. This job reports to Assigned Administrator/Supervisor.
