About The Position

The Student Support Centers (SSC) located at Gideon Welles, Smith Middle, and Glastonbury High schools are designed to provide a safe, nurturing environment for students to develop social/emotional and behavioral skills. The SSC paraprofessional will assist the Student Support Center clinician in providing support services to students.

Requirements

• Ability to relate well to students
• Ability to follow a schedule with flexibility to changes
• Problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills
• Previous experience working with middle/high school students preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist the Student Support Center clinician in providing support services to students
• Data collection
• Implementing behavior plans
• Supporting academic work
• Communicating with classroom teachers
• Developing relationships with students
• Prepping materials
• Student supervision
• Other duties as directed by the SSC clinician
