About The Position
The position involves assisting and guiding students in various academic subjects including reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer instruction. The role also includes supporting professional staff in administering and correcting classroom exercises, tests, and assessments. The paraeducator will help manage behavioral and emotional outbursts in students using techniques such as rewards systems and behavior checklists. Additionally, the paraeducator will supervise students in non-instructional areas and assist students with special needs to maximize their inclusion and achievement of IEP objectives. The role contributes to the IEP process and requires experience working with students exhibiting aggressive behavior, with PMT certification preferred.
