The Special Services Job Coach supports students in developing independence across daily living, academic, workplace-readiness, and community-based skills. In addition to classroom support, the Job Coach will work with students in community settings, including supporting students at job sites, modeling and reinforcing workplace expectations, helping students learn job tasks, assisting with communication or social interactions, and promoting safe, appropriate, and independent work behaviors. This position requires a cooperative working relationship with teachers as well as an employment specialist and focuses on coaching students through routines and experiences that build confidence and independence. This position also includes implementing teacher-prepared instructional or skill-building plans, guiding and supervising teacher-planned activities, assisting in preparing materials for instruction or practice, and documenting individual student progress. If there is a need, the Job Coach may provide personal care and hygiene assistance, and may assist with a student's medication regimen.
