About The Position

The Paraprofessional I position is a full-time role requiring more than 25 hours per week for a duration of 10 months. The role involves supporting educational activities in a school setting, adhering to the guidelines set by the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE). Applicants must meet specific educational requirements, including having a secondary school diploma or equivalent, completing two years of higher education, or holding an Associate's Degree or higher. Additionally, candidates can qualify by achieving certain scores on the ETS ParaPro or the new ETS ParaPathways Assessment.

Requirements

• Earned a secondary school diploma or its equivalent.
• Completed 2 years of study at an institution of higher education, or earned an Associate's Degree (or higher).
• Achieve at least a score of 457 on the ETS ParaPro (valid through August 31, 2026).
• Achieve at least a score of 332 in Section 1 (Reading and Writing) and a score of 334 in Section 2 (Mathematics) in the new ETS ParaPathways Assessment (as of September 1, 2025).

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in the classroom by assisting with instructional activities.
• Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students as needed.
• Assist with the preparation of instructional materials and resources.
• Monitor student progress and report observations to teachers.
